Nero Marquina Honed Hexagon Marble Wall & Floor Tiles
Marble / Black
A large hexagon rather than a mosaic, this Nero Marquina tile brings monolithic drama to a foundational black marble: a deeply saturated black ground crossed by dramatic white veining — the Basque stone's geological signature — so every installation carries singular visual authority. A honed finish gives a refined, light-diffusing matte that suits high-footfall settings without losing sophistication. At 203 x 176 mm the six-sided format lends architectural dimensionality across floors and walls. Its structural density makes it equally suited to statement wall cladding and load-bearing floors, and the honed face masks the micro-scuffing that shows on polished black — a natural fit for hotel lobbies, spa facilities, corporate headquarters, high-end retail and bespoke residential schemes. Producing from selected Nero Marquina in our own facilities, we calibrate each tile so tone and veining flow naturally across large hexagonal installations, keeping the black field coherent across a big floor.

Read Before You Specify
- Honed, polished, tumbled or brushed — which finish should you specify?Specify honed for interior floors, tumbled or brushed where the surface gets wet, and polished only where there is no slip requirement. All four start from the same slab; the finish changes grip, how visibly it wears, and how often it needs sealing — not the stone itself.
- Marble or travertine — which should you specify?Specify marble where a polished, low-absorption surface matters, and travertine where texture, grip and warmth matter more. Marble absorbs about 0.15% of its weight in water against travertine at roughly 2.6%, but the two overlap in compressive strength — porosity and strength are separate properties.
