Grey rather than the more familiar beige, this Silver Travertine cobble brings the cool tones of an ancient European courtyard to terraces and paths: a mesmerising palette of silvery greys, warm taupes and delicate pewter undertones. Tumbling gives a beautifully antiqued, tactile surface with softened, rustic edges that celebrate the stone's organic character. Arranged in a versatile modular pattern, the cobbles lay up into richly varied paving. The tumbled surface and pitting lift slip resistance for damp outdoor zones, and the durable stone transitions readily indoors too. It suits alfresco dining patios, garden pathways and romantic courtyards outside, and boot rooms, conservatories and heritage kitchen floors within. Working from our own travertine, we tumble and calibrate the cobbles so tone and texture read balanced across a run, weathering evenly across a whole landscape.

Read Before You Specify
- Honed, polished, tumbled or brushed — which finish should you specify?Specify honed for interior floors, tumbled or brushed where the surface gets wet, and polished only where there is no slip requirement. All four start from the same slab; the finish changes grip, how visibly it wears, and how often it needs sealing — not the stone itself.
- Marble or travertine — which should you specify?Specify marble where a polished, low-absorption surface matters, and travertine where texture, grip and warmth matter more. Marble absorbs about 0.15% of its weight in water against travertine at roughly 2.6%, but the two overlap in compressive strength — porosity and strength are separate properties.
